Analyst and journalist Erl Murati commented on the issue of the KAYO company and its activity in the field of weapons, during the show "Minuta e Parë" on News24 with moderator Ola Bruko. Murati raised doubts about the way this scheme works, comparing it to practices that, according to him, were used during the Gërdec period.

Murati said that Albania does not have the capacity to produce weapons and that, according to him, these are products that come from abroad and are then sent to conflict-affected countries. "They come to us from Africa and then send them to conflict-affected countries, and this is outside the rules of the Albanian state, outside the attention of NATO," he said. According to Murati, the fact that several companies are involved in this process raises doubts about how the activity works. He raised the question of why the creation of about 10 other companies would be necessary if it is simply a legal commercial activity.

He compared the situation to that of Gërdec, saying that even then weapons and ammunition were repackaged and that for this reason, according to him, the way in which these transactions are carried out must be carefully looked at.

"They come to us from Africa and then send them to conflict zones, and this outside the rules of the Albanian state, outside the attention of NATO."
Yes, this adds fuel to the fire and this increases suspicion, because in the end, then I'm saying this: what was the need for 10 companies, if we were simply going to do, let's say, that we do legal trade and don't do trafficking?
So we take some weapons, repackage them, as was done in the time of Gërdec, which also has its doubts. Repackaging is done for a reason. If we assume that it is a legal trade, then why the need for 10 other companies to do it? I suspect that this is a scheme. I always suspect that it is a scheme, just like the one used in the distant year 2008, at the time of the Gërdec tragedy, that MIEO, as a state-owned company for the production and trading of weapons, just as it is now, entered into dubious agreements with brokers, with realtors, with individuals or with foreign companies, just to artificially change the price of the cartridges it sold, which it took out of Albanian warehouses, or to make dubious transactions, which were later confirmed and people were convicted for that matter, for arms trafficking right after Gërdec.

So, I suspect that the same scheme is happening now and I am legitimate in my suspicion, but also a part of public opinion, but also other factors, because here we have a lack of transparency and this cannot be hidden behind, let's say, the alibi that here we are dealing with security and defense issues, as long as we still neither produce nor, let's say, do anything at this point. This is simply about trade.

If it is trafficking, trafficking, or trade, it is good here, as far as I know, that the Special Prosecution Office has opened an investigation and it is good to get to the bottom of this situation. But at a minimum, at a minimum, there needs to be transparency, if not from Ron Yeffet himself to say who he is, at a minimum from the government to say that, if he has chosen this partner, this business wizard, let's say that he will do good for Albania and has entered various sectors, from oil, to road infrastructure, to gas, to weapons, let's say that he is a business wizard and he will do good for Albania, then there needs to be, there is a need for transparency and it needs to be said by the state, government authorities, specifically what good this individual or the companies behind him bring to the government.

As long as there is no discussion and no transparency, every accusation of Arben Ahmetaj, whoever the person is making this accusation, because ultimately he himself has accusations of corruption, but he is an insider and knows things well, shows that we are dealing with illegality here and then transparency can be demanded itself.
I don't want to get into technicalities. These are conversations that need to be seen in context, but that's up to the prosecution.
So, we don't, that is, since we have silence from both the government and Roni Yeffet, this is obvious now that this is the case, that is, something is happening that needs to be hidden and is being hidden. Then it's up to the government, excuse me, it's up to the justice system, it's up to the government to definitely react, it's up to the government. I excluded the government, since it hasn't spoken all this time, so it hasn't even tried to appear, I excluded it in a way. They themselves are accused, so both Roni and the government.
By not speaking, they accuse themselves. What I said at the beginning of the narrative, but now the hope remains in some way is in justice itself, which must make it transparent and must be penalized," said Murati.
