Democratic Party MP Belind Këlliçi has reacted sharply after the European Commission's position, which demanded the immediate handling of SPAK's request to lift the immunity of MP Belinda Balluku.

Këlliçi stated that the European Commission has made a clear call to the Albanian authorities not to obstruct justice, emphasizing that the fight against corruption is a key condition for Albania's European integration process.

According to him, the European Commission's reaction comes immediately after Prime Minister Edi Rama declared that he does not intend to review SPAK's request, implying its rejection. Këlliçi accused Rama of having warned of interference in the law with the aim, according to him, of making himself and members of the government immune from justice.

The DP MP stressed that the Prime Minister's protection of corrupt practices and obstruction of justice have led to strong international reactions. He added that this situation shows, in his opinion, the level of pressure and involvement of the Prime Minister in corruption issues.

Belind Kelliçi:

Rama is ready to burn integration for his own skin, but Albanians will not allow it! The European Commission has today requested the immediate handling of SPAK's request to lift the immunity of defendant Belinda Balluku, accused of abusing at least 11 tenders worth 1.1 billion euros.

This position of the EC comes immediately after Edi Rama said today that he does not intend to review this request, implying its rejection. He even announced that he will intervene in the law to make himself and his deputies, uninvestigable, unpunishable, and untouchable.

The EC also reminds them that European integration depends on the fight against corruption!

The protection that Edi Rama is giving to affairs, the obstacles he is making to justice are bringing a strong international reaction. From this, it is clear to everyone how great the pressure that Balluku has put on him is and how caught up in corruption Edi Rama himself is.

He is ready to play and put the country's integration and relations with the EU at risk, just to save his own skin.

But this work has finally taken its course!

He may buy time, but he is adding a lot of cost to the inevitable departure.

Albanians will not sacrifice their historical aspiration and future for the personal fate of a corrupt Prime Minister linked to crime.

We choose integration, we choose Europe.

And we unite determinedly tomorrow at 17:00 PM in front of the Crime and Corruption Office.
