The bronze medal in the FIFA2026 World Cup has not been enough to calm the Three Lions, in England that elimination against Argentina, apparently has not yet been forgotten, a fact that even Bukayo Saka admits. The Arsenal striker, in a press conference, on the eve of the start of the Nations League, revealed that the disappointment is still present:

"Undoubtedly, we still have wounds on our backs. This is because we knew that you believed in us a lot, we were also convinced that this time we could make it, we were all united. We are trying to turn the page, to look forward, but a wound is not easily healed, not easily forgotten ," said Saka.

The Arsenal striker then focused on Saturday's match against Spain, the reigning World Cup champions: "Now it's time to focus on the new season, on these new competitions that await us. We are in a group with four strong teams, we have difficult matches ahead of us, but we will try to qualify for the Nations League play-offs ," Saka said at a press conference.

Like Saka, Thomas Tuchel's first thought at the press conference was for the FIFA 2026 World Cup. For the German coach, this was a missed opportunity, but now it's time to look ahead with a new objective, Euro 2028. The first test is Spain, a very difficult opponent: "We beat France, so we have a chance to win against Spain. It would be a perfect start, a victory against the World Champions at home. The players are hungry, we have to keep our heads high and look forward ," Tuchel said at the press conference.

England is in League A, in Group 3 along with Spain, Croatia and the Czech Republic.
