Actor Mehdi Malkaj addressed protesters in front of the Prime Minister's Office, calling for unity and criticizing the political and regional divisions in the country.

Malkaj said that Albanians should not be divided into North and South, emphasizing that the entire territory of Albania is part of the same homeland. "We are divided as a people. Albania is both with a mother and a father. Northerners call it homeland, southerners call it motherland. We have a mother and a father and yet we are orphans," the actor said.

He also criticized those who, according to him, stay outside the protests and give opinions from home. "Where are you? Where or where? How many people are you to know. Here we talk about intellectuals. But who is an intellectual? The one who watches from home and gives advice?" said Malkaj.

The actor appealed for the unity of Albanians from Konispol to Tropoja, describing the North-South divide as a harmful policy.

"We do not have North-South. This is a slanderous policy to divide us," he declared. Malkaj also greeted his friends from the Alliance for Theatre, who, according to him, have been part of the protests since day one.

At the end of his speech, the actor harshly attacked Prime Minister Edi Rama, calling him the main person responsible for the situation that, according to him, the country is experiencing. "I want to greet my old friends, from the Theater Alliance, who have been here since day one. Young men and women, Albania has become like this! First, we must show that stinker the country. Who is this, you know?! He is the archenemy of Albania. Albania has never seen a greater enemy than him," Malkaj said.
