A 44-year-old man accused of being a member of a criminal group has been extradited from Italy to Albania, within the framework of cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome.
According to the official announcement, within the framework of the international operation "The Wanted", the procedures for the extradition of citizen Sajmir Kolaveri, declared internationally wanted by the Albanian authorities, were finalized.
The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC), with a decision dated September 25, 2025, has assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison" for a series of serious criminal offenses, including "Murder for blood feud", "Hiding or destruction of a corpse", as well as offenses related to a structured criminal group and illegal possession of weapons.
According to the investigation, Kolaveri is suspected of collaborating with other members of the criminal group on August 5, 2020, to murder Klevis Lleshi. After the execution, he is also suspected of participating in the transportation and burial of the body in the village of Shpërdhet, Mamurras, with the aim of concealing the crime.
Upon arrival in Albania, the 44-year-old was handed over to the competent authorities for further legal proceedings.
