The case of 14-year-old D. B., who suffered from neuromuscular scoliosis and a giant neurofibroma, has been successfully concluded. Thanks to the experience and professionalism of Prof. Dr. Kamil Cagri Kose (Orthoshpine Clinic), the girl from Vlora can now enjoy life like all her peers.

Neuromuscular Scoliosis caused by Neurofibromatosis is a congenital disorder. The patient was diagnosed with this pathology in early childhood, but due to the difficult economic conditions of the family, she had not been able to receive any treatment before.
With the onset of adolescence, the deformity escalated significantly, making breathing and therefore an active life extremely difficult. A situation that has also greatly affected the teenager's self-esteem.
In addition, the girl also had a giant neurofibroma on her back on the right side of her spine, making the intervention even more difficult.
Normally, patients with such pathologies undergo separate procedures, but due to financial difficulties, it was decided to do everything in a single intervention.
With this technique, the deformity was first corrected and the tumor was removed by Prof. Dr. Kamil Cagri Kose (Orthospine Clinic). The operation lasted about 5 hours and only 2 blood bags were used during it, while the patient did not need resuscitation. The 14-year-old even stood up the day after the intervention without any complications.
Comparison of radiological examinations before and 8 days after the intervention showed a radical change. Not only was the deformity corrected, but at the same time the tumor was removed. Even in terms of aesthetics, the young patient's body has a regular appearance.
