The Municipal Council of Klos held an extraordinary meeting on Thursday to gather opinions and ideas in relation to the parliamentary majority's proposal for the administrative-territorial reform, which envisages the merger of the Municipality of Klos and its unification with the Municipality of Mat. The meeting was attended by municipal councilors, local leaders and dozens of residents of the area.

The Chairperson of the Municipal Council, Hazbie Dedolli, announced that the meeting was called at the request of the councilors to discuss and adopt an official position against this proposal.

During the discussions, the councilors unanimously expressed their opposition to the merger with the Mat Municipality, declaring that they will pursue all legal avenues to oppose the decision, including organizing protests.

The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of Klos, Valbona Kola, who announced that the draft reform proposal had arrived at the municipality two days ago. She explained that the document foresees a 60-day public consultation period, during which hearings with citizens will be held in all administrative units of the municipality.

The mayor emphasized that she will stand by the residents and represent their will at every stage of the process, guaranteeing that the position of the Klos Municipality will be based on the opinion of the community.

At the end of the meeting, the socialist mayor of Klos Municipality, Valbona Kola, declared that in the coming days, public hearings will begin throughout the territory of Klos Municipality, where citizens will have the opportunity to express their position regarding the administrative-territorial reform.

"We will hold a public hearing in every village. As an elected official, I will be with the opinion of the citizens. If the citizens oppose the merger with Mati, I am with them. I am a servant of the people of Klos, the temporary chair," she said.
