Prof. Dr. Irakli Koçollari was invited to the lunch program at News24, where he spoke about the international conference organized by Luarasi University on the topic "Justice between tradition and modernity".
During the interview, Koçollari emphasized that Luarasi University periodically organizes scientific conferences and high-level academic activities, with the aim of being in coherence with rapid global developments in the legal, economic and technological fields.
"Luarasi periodically organizes such scientific and qualitative conferences to keep up with the times. This world has dizzying dynamics, rapid changes in the economic, political, scientific and technological fields, and these are accompanied by legal changes," said Koçollari.
According to him, Luarasi University has transformed into an important center of scientific research, bringing together papers and analyses from Albanian and foreign personalities in the field of justice.
Koçollari also praised Albanian legal standards, emphasizing that they are in harmony with European and international jurisprudence.
"The legal standards of our country are in an equal balance with European jurisprudence and beyond. We do not concede that we are behind. Adopting Western standards has been one of the trends that has accompanied the legal institutions in Albania," he declared.
The focus of the conference was also the relationship between Albanian tradition and legal modernity. Koçollari said that the activity addressed important topics related to Albanian legal heritage, but also to current challenges such as the phenomenon of blood feuds.
"We are indeed talking about modernity, but we must also recognize the tradition that has played and continues to play a major role. Blood feud is a vestige of the past, but its effects are still felt today," he said.
According to Koçollari, the conference aimed to analyze how far Western countries have advanced in legal terms and how these developments are reflected in Albanian legislation, turning Luarasi University into an important space for academic and scientific debate for the future of justice in Albania.
