Another smuggling case has been cracked in Kapshtica. Official police sources reported that a 54-year-old man has ended up behind bars after being accused of smuggling various medical medications and a quantity of clothing.

The Border Police intensifies controls to prevent and crack down on illegal activities at the border. Another smuggling case is cracked. A 54-year-old man was arrested for smuggling various medical medications and a quantity of clothing without the relevant documentation. Medical medications, clothing suspected of being smuggled from Greece and a vehicle are seized.
Following systematic checks and those based on police information obtained on operational routes, the services of the Korça DVKM, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, at the Kapshtica checkpoint, passed the vehicle driven by citizen AI for a second line check.
During the search of the vehicle that this citizen was driving, a quantity of various medical medications and clothing were found, without the relevant documentation, which, together with the vehicle, were seized as material evidence.
Following the procedural actions, citizen AI, 54 years old, resident of Korça, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Smuggling of licensed goods".
The procedural materials were referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action.
