SPAIN-The National Police in Madrid have arrested an Albanian from Kosovo, after he voluntarily presented himself at the Police Station, admitting to the murder of his wife.
The incident took place in the Hortaleza neighborhood of the Spanish capital and is the first case of gender-motivated murder in this country this year, KTV reports.
The Kosovar citizen told police that he believed he had done something bad to his wife.
The victim, a 43-year-old Romanian citizen, was found dead in the couple's apartment.
Initial investigations indicate that the Kosovar husband had strangled his wife, thus causing her death.
Police in Madrid said they did not have a warrant for the man, even though there was a complaint against him several years ago.
