The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, also the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, failed to reach a political agreement on August 5.

After the meeting in the Parliament premises, Kurti told journalists that "we have no news until we have an agreement."

"When we realize the agreement, we will be able to inform you," Kurti said.

Meanwhile, Abdixhiku did not speak to the media after the meeting. Kurti and Abdixhiku met the day before, but even after three hours of meeting, they did not agree on a political agreement for the creation of institutions.

However, Wednesday's meeting took place a few hours after LDK exponents declared that their party is seeking the post of president.

After the August 4 meeting, Kurti and Abdixhiku expressed different positions regarding the president – ​​the disagreement over which months earlier between the parties prompted the June 7 elections.

The leader of the LVV, Albin Kurti, insisted that Kosovo needs a consensual, non-partisan president, while the leader of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, said that a consensual president is anyone who receives 80 votes from MPs.
