Although the Kosovo Assembly has not yet been fully constituted, the Vetëvendosje Movement is preparing for the next steps towards forming a Government.

The Telegraph learns from sources within the LVV that a meeting of the General Council of this entity will be held on Sunday, at which Albin Kurti is expected to be voted on as the candidate for prime minister.

After the Council's vote is completed, Kurti's name will be sent to President Vjosa Osmani, who is then expected to take action according to the constitutional procedure for the Government's nominee.

This development signals an acceleration of LVV's efforts to form a Government, despite the fact that the process of constituting the Assembly has been delayed due to the failure to elect a deputy speaker from among the Serb community.

According to the Constitution of Kosovo, Article 95, paragraph 2, it is stated that the candidate for Prime Minister, no later than 15 days after the appointment, presents the composition of the Government to the Assembly of Kosovo and requests approval by the Assembly.

The government is considered elected if it receives the majority of votes of all deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo.

Paragraph 4 of this article further states that if the proposed composition of the Government does not receive the necessary majority of votes, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, within ten (10) days, shall appoint another candidate according to the same procedure. If the Government is not elected a second time, then the President of Kosovo shall call elections, which shall be held no later than forty (40) days from the date of their announcement. /Telegraph
