Chaotic moments and physical clashes were recorded this Wednesday evening in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where protesters were confronted by the intervention of police forces, while several girls ended up in the ambulance after using pepper spray.
Tensions escalated when a group of girls, helped by boys, created a human "fence" in front of the police van, attempting to prevent it from leaving and escorting two protesters, Edison Lika and Dritan Goxhaj.
Despite the presence of citizens in front of the vehicle, the van continued moving, pushing protesters in its path.
"Criminals!" were the cries of citizens, who opposed the actions of the officers.
The situation has further escalated, leading to physical clashes between protesters and law enforcement. During the intervention, officers also used pepper spray, which caused discomfort to some of the participants in the rally.
Several girls felt unwell as a result of exposure to the spray and were taken by ambulance service to receive medical attention.
The clashes come after the escorting of Edison Lika and Dritan Goxhaj, who, according to preliminary information, refused to accept the fines imposed by the police.
The "Eagle" forces have also arrived in the area in front of the Prime Minister's Office, while police intervention and the use of pepper spray have caused ongoing tensions during the protest.
Students and citizens have been in front of the government building for several hours, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
There is still no official reaction from the State Police regarding the clashes, the use of pepper spray, and the incident with the police van.
