Fourteen civil society organizations have addressed the Constitutional Court of Kosovo with a request to take action regarding the implementation of the Judgment setting the deadline for the constitution of the Assembly of Kosovo.
The organizations, led by AVONET, are asking the Court to assess whether its judgment has been implemented in accordance with its provisions and deadlines, following the Assembly's failure to complete the constitution process within the constitutional deadline.
The final results of the June 7 elections were certified on July 8, while the 30-day deadline for the constitution of the Assembly ended on August 7.
In this case, the constitutive session of the Assembly opened on August 6, but did not end with the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speakers of the Assembly. The session was scheduled to continue on August 8, after the end of the 30-day deadline.
