Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles must be "removed" before the war between the US, Israel and Tehran ends.
In an interview for CBS News' "60 Minutes" program
, Netanyahu stated that the conflict cannot be considered closed as long as Iran continues to possess nuclear materials and infrastructure for uranium enrichment.
"The war is not over, because there is still nuclear material, enriched uranium, that needs to be removed from Iran. There are still enrichment sites that need to be dismantled," he said.
Asked how the removal of enriched uranium could be accomplished, Netanyahu replied curtly: "You step in and remove it."
The Israeli leader's statements come at a time of high tensions in the Middle East and amid international concerns over Iran's nuclear program.
