Kosovo's Chief Negotiator with the European Union and National Coordinator for the Reform and Growth Instrument, Jeton Zulfaj, held a meeting with the heads of missions of EU member states in Kosovo.
The Prime Minister's Office, in an official response, announced that the meeting focused on the progress of Kosovo's EU integration process, the progress of reforms, and the strengthening of institutions.
"The discussion focused on the progress of Kosovo's EU integration process, progress in the implementation of the Reform Agenda within the Reform and Growth Instrument (RGF), as well as the need to strengthen institutional coordination and ensure sustainable implementation of reforms," the announcement states.
Further, Chief Negotiator Zulfaj expressed gratitude to the EU and its member states for their assistance and contribution to the development of Kosovo.
"His main focus will be advancing towards candidate status and opening negotiations as natural steps towards full membership in the European Union. Zulfaj reiterated that Kosovo's membership in the European Union is a joint effort. Kosovo is aligned with the EU's foreign policy, shares common European values, leads the region in democratic advancement indices and has a high average of economic development, therefore advancing towards EU membership is a natural and deserved step," the announcement states.
