The Financial Supervisory Authority, in collaboration with AON and the Insurers Association of Albania, state that their partnership with the state for the consequences of earthquakes, floods, fires or other natural hazards would ensure the protection of Albanian citizens, businesses and the economy.
"Insurance should not be seen simply as a financial product, but as a mechanism of economic protection and solidarity. The Albanian Insurers Association remains committed to raising public awareness, strengthening cooperation with institutions and building modern insurance models that guarantee more security and stability for Albanian citizens," said the President of the Albanian Insurers Association, Mimoza Hajdarmataj.
On the other hand, AON representative, Xhan Liska, suggests that it is important for Albania to take measures to strengthen the issue of insurance for natural disasters.
Albania is not the only country with low insurance, but increasing a large loss would be a huge pressure on the government. Automatically, pressure on the government means pressure on the people. That is why we believe that solutions should be discussed. People should be paid not only from the government budget but also from the insurance budget and from other strong partners.
Among other things, representatives of the organizations brought examples from Europe of how companies from powerful countries have solved insurance and protection from natural disasters, which can also be practiced in Albania.
