Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has made strong accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama and former Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, speaking about the incinerator issue and the arrest warrant against him. In an interview with “Çim Peka Live”, Ahmetaj claimed that the procedures for the incinerators in Elbasan and Fier were used to make him a “scapegoat”, while denying responsibility for the decisions that, according to him, are attributed to him.

"17 decisions fap and fap for the Elbasan incinerator! What did I do? I did not sign these things. Let's move on to the Fier incinerator, do you see a name like Arben Ahmetaj? Why? Because the head of the organization wanted a scapegoat", he declared. Ahmetaj also made a direct claim about Erion Veliaj, saying that the latter had celebrated after an arrest warrant was issued against him.

"When my name came up for arrest, Erion Veliaj opened a bottle of whiskey. They would celebrate, they would open another bottle, when I was in prison, due to my hot-bloodedness, I would have been eliminated," said Ahmetaj. The former deputy prime minister also claimed that there had been a plan against him to eliminate him during his stay in prison, linking this to what he calls "the head of the organization." Ahmetaj continued his statements by mentioning the case of the Fier incinerator and other people involved in the case, while his accusations remain his claims and not judicially proven facts.
