The acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, welcomed today to a meeting the Members of the United Kingdom Parliament, Martin Vickers and Paul Foster.

They discussed bilateral relations, economic and trade cooperation, and defense cooperation. Kurti highlighted Kosovo's hospitality and participation in the international Defender Europe 2025 exercises.

He highlighted the country's investments and growth in defense capabilities – marking a 123% increase in the number of soldiers over the last four years in addition to investments in armaments – as well as the strategic importance of cooperation in the military industry as a new and potential area for the Kosovo-United Kingdom partnership.

During the meeting, Kurti spoke about strategic sectors of the economy, with particular focus on railway infrastructure projects and the technology sector, as areas with high potential for investment and cooperation.

Another topic of discussion was regional cooperation within the framework of the Berlin Process, the next summit of which will be held in London, as well as the importance of Kosovo's rapid membership in NATO, as a key step for long-term security and regional stability.

"British MPs praised Kosovo's progress and expressed their and the United Kingdom's commitment to continuing to support Kosovo on its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration and democratic development."

"Kurti expressed gratitude for the United Kingdom's continued and all-party support for Kosovo," the OPM statement said.
