The Kosovo Assembly has approved five international financial agreements, with 104 votes in favor, none against and 5 abstentions.
Two of these agreements are directly linked to the European Union's Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.
The first provides support for Kosovo within the framework of this plan, in implementing reforms and accelerating economic development. The second is a loan agreement within the framework of the same plan, which provides financial means for the implementation of the agreed reforms.
The third agreement was reached with the International Development Association, part of the World Bank Group, and concerns support for public finance management, increased competitiveness and sustainable development.
The deputies also approved the agreement on the "Kompas" project, which aims to strengthen the health system in the country.
The fifth agreement foresees investments in early childhood education and human capital development.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said in a message on social media that the approval of 5 international agreements in the Assembly paved the way for 1.1 billion euros in investments and grants for the country.
"I congratulate the members of the Assembly of Kosovo for approving five international agreements, which pave the way for around 1.1 billion euros in investments and grants for our country. These agreements bring more opportunities for young people, more support for families, more investments for businesses, as well as more quality in healthcare, education, the rule of law and more development. These are investments that will be felt directly in the daily lives of our citizens. When we act together, Kosovo always wins. And today, Kosovo won," the President wrote on Facebook.
