A young man from the diaspora shared the story of the evacuation of his hometown in the Kukës region during his speech at the protest in front of the Prime Minister's Office, appealing for the protection of the village and for a new political spirit in the country.
The young man painfully described the reality of the abandonment of rural areas and the decline in domestic production as a result of mass emigration:
"Every time I return to Albania, my heart aches to see Albanians, to see my village, abandoned. My neighborhood in Kukës in the '90s had about 60 families, now there are only 3 families left! And the village is being abandoned, everyone is leaving. Albania's wealth is the village and that's where real production comes from! This is disappearing from this destructive policy!"
Further, he appealed for nationwide awareness and demanded the removal of the current political class:
"I call on everyone: let's unite and abolish this policy and let the new Albanian policy, of Albanians, of a free Albania come! Down with the traitors, long live Albania!"
