The State Police appeared this Wednesday at the premises of "Equos Resort", where a decision to seize the assets of Ergys Agas is being implemented.
According to preliminary information provided by Klodiana Lala, the focus of the action is several villas built in this complex, which are suspected of being built without a building permit and then legalized in a manner contrary to the law.
Referring to SPAK, 29 real estate properties have been seized from Ergys Agas, including villas, land in Tirana and Durrës, as well as 7 bank accounts.
Meanwhile, SPAK has also seized 9 bank accounts in Karçanaj's name, assets that are suspected of stemming from corruption.
Karçanaj also had apartments seized, 2 in Tirana, 1 in Qerret.
CHARGES
The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) published an official announcement yesterday regarding the ongoing investigations against Ergys Agas, Ermal Beqiraj and the former director of AKSHI, Mirlinda Karçanaj.
At the request of SPAK, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime has ordered the seizure of a long list of assets, which according to SPAK have an approximate value of over 40 million euros.
The court's decision includes apartments, land, villas, forests, buildings, luxury vehicles, bank accounts in several financial institutions, as well as shares in commercial entities owned by Agas, Beqiraj, and Karçanaj.
Among the seized assets are: apartments and properties in various areas of Tirana, Durrës and Vlora, large areas of land and forests in Petrelë and other peripheral areas, luxury vehicles, several bank accounts, commercial entities and shares in various companies as well as vessels, including a yacht. Also, in some cases, significant amounts of money held in the accounts of various commercial entities have been seized. An arrest warrant has been issued for Agas, who is on the run, at the request of SPAK, following investigations into the AKSHI scandal, where the businessman is accused of interfering in public tenders.
