Prosecutor Klodian Braho was elected chairman of SPAK with 7 votes from KLP members, after a marathon hearing session at the High Prosecutorial Council, which was widely monitored by foreign diplomats and the media.
The other candidate, Adnan Xholi, received 3 votes. 1 vote went to Elvin Gokaj. While the only female candidate, prosecutor Doloreza Musabelliu, did not receive any votes.
Klodian Braho will have a 3-year mandate as head of SPAK without the right to re-election, succeeding Altin Dumanin in this position.
Braho will take over from Dumani on December 19th and then officially begin his duties as head of the Special Prosecution Office.

The session at the KLP lasted 6 hours, while all four candidates presented their platforms for the leadership of SPAK.
During his speech before the members of the High Prosecutorial Council, Braho declared as a priority of his work the irreversible consolidation of the Special Prosecution Office.
"The biggest challenge is for the SPAK institution to mature and pass that point of no return. It should no longer matter who is the prosecutor or deputy, but to have standards," said Braho.
Klodian Braho is the third head of the Special Prosecution Office since its establishment, succeeding prosecutors Arben Kraja and Altin Dumani.
Who is Klodian Braho?
Klodian Braho, 43, graduated from the Faculty of Law in 2004 and the School of Magistrates in 2008. He worked in the Prosecutor's Offices of Berat and Vlora, before being appointed as a prosecutor in the Serious Crimes Prosecutor's Office. Braho has been a prosecutor at SPAK since 2019.
