A driver has been fined 60 lek by the Traffic Police in Berat after being filmed driving on the sidewalk.
Footage of the serious violation was published on the social network TikTok, where the vehicle is seen driving in an area frequented by pedestrians.
After the video was published, the Berat Traffic Police began verifications to identify the driver of the vehicle. The driver, identified with the initials IL, was escorted to the police station, where he underwent further procedures.
In addition to the fine, his driving license was also revoked, as the vehicle was found to have no technical inspection and no insurance.

After the publication on the social network "TikTok" of a video showing a vehicle moving on the sidewalk, on a street in the city of Berat, endangering the lives and safety of citizens, the Traffic Police services of the Berat DVP carried out investigative actions to identify the driver of the vehicle.
At the conclusion of the actions, the driver of the vehicle, citizen IL, was identified, who was escorted to the Police Station, where further procedural actions were carried out.
In the end, citizen IL was fined 60,000 lek, and his driving license was revoked, as a check of the vehicle's documentation revealed that it had no technical inspection and no insurance.
The Berat Local Police Directorate thanks citizens for their contribution in identifying violations of road traffic rules and invites them to continue to report any case of illegality, at number 112.
