The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted in strong tones to developments in the region, criticizing the statements of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and accusing Prime Minister Edi Rama of positions and actions detrimental to Albanian interests.
Berisha described Vučić's statements as "destabilizing", while emphasizing that they have also been condemned by the European Union.

According to him, Kosovo's waters and rivers cannot be touched by anyone, while lakes built during the Tito period cannot be treated as assets that can be used contrary to Kosovo's interests.
Berisha also warned that the use or threat of such weapons constitutes a stance against peace and stability in the region.

In another part of the statement, the democratic leader intensified the accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama. Berisha said that Rama cannot "wash away" what he describes as "anti-Albanian services."

"Rama cannot wash away the anti-Albanian services he has done. He has killed the free vote and hope, because he has committed soft genocide," said Berisha.
Further, the DP leader raised the question of whether Rama can be "purified" from what he described as serious acts of treason.
"No, he cannot, because he has committed the most serious acts of treason," declared Berisha.
Berisha's statements come in a tense political climate, while issues related to Kosovo, Albanian-Serbian relations, and the Albanian government's positions continue to be part of the political debate.

"Vučić's statements are destabilizing and have been condemned by the European Union. Racism and barbarity have reached mythological levels, forgetting that international law exists."

Can Rama be purified from serious acts of betrayal?
"No, it cannot, because these are acts that are considered among the most serious of treason," he said.
