The wave of civic protests has spread rapidly beyond Albania's borders, where in parallel with the massive rally in Tirana, many Albanians have gathered in a large protest in Milan, Italy.

The Albanian community there has joined forces with their compatriots in their homeland, showing extraordinary solidarity with the civic movement in Tirana.

With banners in their hands, national flags and calls against corruption and for the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama, protesters in Milan have expressed their revolt against the mismanagement of the country, the extreme poverty that is emptying Albania and the capture of public institutions.
