The 100th national protest against the government continues in Tirana, where numerous citizens have gathered in "Skënderbej" Square, responding to the call for mass participation.

Protesters have filled the square with national flags, while the crowd has been heard chanting against the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama. After gathering in the center of the capital, citizens have started a march towards the “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, in the direction of the Prime Minister’s Office. Today’s protest marks 100 days since the start of the civic action, which initially emerged as an environmental cause and then took on broader political and social dimensions.

The protesters' demands center on the resignation of Edi Rama and the creation of a caretaker government. Activists have warned that the protests will continue and that the civic action could escalate through civil disobedience.

The movement, known as the “Flamingo Revolution,” began on May 31st after opposition to the construction of a resort in the Vjosa-Narta protected area. The cause later expanded to include complaints about corruption, economic problems, employment, youth displacement, and governance.

In 100 days of protests, mobilization has spread to other cities in the country, while solidarity rallies have also been held by Albanians in the diaspora.

This evening's protest is expected to continue in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where speeches will be held and the protesters' messages will be conveyed.
