An open lecture on the topic "The Role of the Intellectual World in the Development of Society" was held this Thursday at "Luarasi" University, held by former politician, publicist and author of several books, Namik Dokle. The event was attended by lecturers and students.
Sherif Bundo, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at "Luarasi" University, emphasized the importance of the continuous connection between the academic world and society, underlining that universities should serve as laboratories of ideas that promote the economic and social development of the country.
"The academic world needs to always be in contact with the entire spectrum of society. Even here, at the Faculty of Economics of 'Luarasi' University, we occasionally invite such personalities to build open communication, to convey and receive messages, as well as to understand the role that the academic world should take in confronting the major problems of the country's economic and social development. Ideas are what push the world forward and universities are the laboratories where these ideas are processed and developed. This is why today we are privileged to have among us a distinguished personality like Mr. Namik Dokle", said Dean Bundo.
For his part, Namik Dokle praised "Luarasi" University as one of the best private universities in the country and shared with the students reflections on education, the economy, and the role of numbers in running society.
"It is a great pleasure for me to talk to students and professors at one of the best private universities we have. The values of this university have increased even more after the agreement with the English university. It is also a pleasure to talk to students and professors of economics, that is, of numbers, because as a philosopher said, Numbers don't run the world, but they show how it can be better run.", said Dokle.
This activity is part of the cycle of open lectures that "Luarasi" University organizes with well-known figures of public life, with the aim of promoting academic debate and the culture of critical reflection in Albanian society.
