French President Emmanuel Macron declared that the ceasefire reached in the Middle East is "extremely positive".
In a statement shortly before the start of the Defense Council at the presidential palace in the Elysee, the French president announced that about 15 countries are mobilizing in a defense mission, with the aim of, in cooperation with Iran, ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
However, Macron said that the situation in Lebanon is still extremely critical and reiterated that France wants Lebanon to join the ceasefire. The Israeli prime minister said that Lebanon is not included in the agreement reached between Washington and Tehran. After the ceasefire agreement, the Paris stock exchange rose by 1.53%, while, as stated by the Union of Oil Industries of France, in the coming days the price of gasoline will decrease by 5 to 10 cents.
