French President Emmanuel Macron spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump, saying he welcomed determined efforts to reach a deal with Tehran as soon as possible.

Macron, in a post on the X platform, stated that France is ready to support and contribute to securing maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

"I said that we are ready to fully support these efforts and to participate fully in their implementation. This is the meaning of the international mission that we have created with the British and our partners, ready to be deployed as soon as the agreement is concluded, in order to contribute to the security of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz," Macron said.
