A critical situation with fires is being recorded in the Drenija forest massif, where the fires have gotten out of control as a result of strong winds that are favoring their rapid spread.
Firefighters are on the ground and are continuing to battle the flames to prevent further spread, but weather conditions and strong winds are making the work of ground teams extremely difficult.
After bringing the situation under control and extinguishing the main fires in the Ngrëçan area, the authorities are expected to direct air intervention towards the Drenija forest massif, with the aim of finally isolating the fire.
