Italian Senator and former Prime Minister Matteo Renzi will visit the Gjadri camp in Lezha on Wednesday. This visit comes after the Italian court's decision, which ruled in favor of the Italian government regarding the agreement with Albania on migrants.
The Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, has herself committed to the implementation of this agreement, and she has expressed her determination to achieve this objective, which, according to her, has been welcomed by all European Union countries.
According to the agreement with Italy, signed between the two governments on November 6, 2023, the port of disembarkation of refugees from third countries is Shëngjini, where a reception center has been established. Meanwhile, a camp has been established in Gjadra where migrants will stay until their asylum applications are reviewed.
