Democratic Party MP Enno Bozdo has stated that the opposition will continue with protests and political pressure, describing this as the only strategy against the government.
Invited to the lunch program at News24Bozdo stressed that the opposition cannot withdraw from its action.
"We cannot give up on protests. Our strategy is persistence. Such regimes do not fall with the fall of an axe," he said.
He added that there are no official signals yet for a caretaker government, but the opposition will be ready if this happens.
"We have no official signals about the technical government, but when they come we will be there. The opposition has a duty to stand up to this regime," declared Bozdo.
Commenting on recent developments, he also mentioned asset seizures, raising questions about Prime Minister Edi Rama's previous statements about the former director of AKSHI, Mirlinda Karçanaj.
"40 million euros of assets were seized yesterday, including a person who Edi Rama said was living in a rented house. Also over 1 million euros of Ergys Agas wines," he said.
Bozdo emphasized that the opposition has a duty to be active in every political and public space.
"The opposition has a duty to oppose in every space and every window it has, wherever there is an opportunity in this situation that Edi Rama has created with Albanian society, we are destined to be there," he said.
He also acknowledged that the opposition needs to reflect on its role, emphasizing that it would not be effective if it refrained from reacting.
"I don't think we've done a good job as the opposition if we give up on these things. We'll give them the chance to give up on fear," the MP said.
Bozdo also raised concerns about pressure on voices critical of the government, citing the case of former minister Elisa Spiropali.
"When it happens to the former foreign minister that she made two statuses, they brought her to the forefront with inspections. You know well what happens to the media, what happened to your media, with fines, they have buried you in situations that do not exist and with slander, simply to shut you up. This is the level that society is experiencing today. The opposition cannot remain silent. Why go on television shows when Rama does not fall on shows? It is worth going to Parliament and saying whatever you want because they have the power of cardboard", he concluded.
