Albanian activist living in London, Artan Daçi, has denounced a situation created during his trip to Albania, where he intends to join the diaspora protest in Tirana.

In a utterance for News24, Daçi said that several vehicles in the convoy he is traveling with to Albania have been stopped at the Montenegrin border crossing. According to him, the members of the convoy were told that the stop came on the orders of the Albanian authorities.

"The journey was good, even though we had bad weather. Some of the members of the convoy are waiting to enter Montenegro, although they are not being allowed, because they have received orders from the Albanian authorities. There are four vehicles there," said Daçi. He indicated that the convoy was identified through logos placed on the vehicles and that during the journey it received support from Albanians in various countries.

"We are identified, as we have put the logo on our cars. In every city we have stopped, we have joined people, Albanians who stop us and take pictures. They say they would very much like to be in the protest," said the activist. Daçi also said that along the way, motorcyclists have also joined the convoy, while describing the emotions of the Albanians they have met.

"Motorcycle convoys are also joining us. Some of them thank us, their voices shaking with emotion," he said. If the ban continues, Daçi stated that they will seek the intervention of the relevant embassies.

"If we can't pass today, we will find a way with the relevant embassies. This means that the Albanian state is very afraid of us," declared Artan Daçi. Activists from the diaspora are expected to join tomorrow's protest in Tirana, where a national rally has been announced.
