The President of the Republic Ilir Meta has awarded the high title of "Grand Master" to the iconographer and one of the most talented mosaicists, Josif Droboniku.
Meta writes that his rich artistic creativity, unique monumental works, mosaics and frescoes, from the facade of the Historical Museum and the Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana, to "Skënderbej" Square in Skopje and to the Arbëreshë territories, speak of his extraordinary talent, passion and dedication to Albanian art.
"In the presence of many fine arts personalities, I had the pleasure of appreciating one of the most talented icon painters and mosaicists, the unforgettable Josif Droboniku.
His rich artistic creativity, unique monumental works, mosaics and frescoes, from the facade of the Historical Museum and the Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana, to 'Skënderbej' Square in Skopje and to the Arbëreshë territories, speak of his extraordinary talent, passion and dedication to Albanian art.
"In gratitude for the rare, multifaceted creative abilities, as well as for the valuable contributions made in the field of painting, especially in the revival of traditional monumental ecclesiastical art, I granted the unforgettable Josif Drobonik the high title of 'Grand Master'", said President Meta.
