A court hearing was held at the Special Court where businessman Pëllumb Gjoka gave his testimony regarding the murder of Gjin Ndoji.
Gjoka, who is accused of involvement in the organization of the criminal event, has categorically denied the charges against him, stating before the trial panel that he is being tried on the basis of what he describes as "rumors and public perceptions," and not concrete evidence.
He stated that the criminal prosecution against him is unfair and that he has been in detention for three years without a solid evidentiary basis.
"I am de facto convicted because I was given a public trial," Gjoka said during his statements.
"As you know, I am accused of the murder of Gjin Ndoji. I am accused of having found the place where the car would be parked and of having taken the killers. Whoever has organized, participated, spoken once to be killed, whoever has found the place of the car has committed a criminal act. But the most criminal is the accusation against me. Last time you asked me if I am convicted. I have been de facto convicted, because I was given a public trial. What haven't I heard. I have been accused of trafficking, of murder, what epithets have I heard. Public trials are not to uncover the truth. Public trials are held to put pressure on judges. They have done this whole story to exchange favors.
I have been in business for 30 years. My main businesses have been nightclubs and gambling. They are businesses that are prejudiced. I have tried to be careful, to stretch my legs as much as I have a blanket. I am surprised by this, I do not know where I stepped. I have been in detention for 3 years and I do not know what I did. "There are many isolated families, and I guarantee you that the story they have started will continue," he said.
According to him, the accusation includes claims that he helped locate the car used in the murder and organized the perpetrators, but he considers these to be untrue and unsupported by scientific or material evidence.
Gjoka accused the prosecution of pressure and of constructing an unfair process, claiming that the investigations were based on unclear materials, including communications mentioned as belonging to the "Sky" platform, which according to him do not prove his identity or involvement.
He also emphasized that in the search of his apartment, the police did not find any weapons or other evidence linking him to the incident.
"There is no scientific evidence linking me to the allegations," he said, adding that the identification claimed in various communications is also incorrect.
He stated that he has no conflicts with the persons mentioned in the file and that many of the elements of the investigation, according to him, are misinterpretations of wiretap materials.
