At a meeting with American Albanians in New Jersey, opposition leader Sali Berisha declared that the Democratic Party aims to "renew Albania," linking this objective to the removal of Edi Rama from power.

"Our battle is for Albania," Berisha emphasized, while seeking the support of the United States in the confrontation that he described as a battle against the "narco-state."

"If we want to renew Albania, this can only be achieved by removing Edi Rama from power," Berisha said, adding that the opposition will win, according to him, the battle for "national dignity."

"We will remove Edi Rama from the government and nothing in the world is stopping us from this goal today," said the leader of the DP.

Berisha described Albania as a "major drug exporter" and declared that the fight against what he calls "narco-states" is a national mission, but also in the interest of friendly countries.

Referring to relations with the US, Berisha said he is confident that the United States will support Albania in this battle. He also mentioned his visit to the US in 1991, when, according to him, he had sought support for the overthrow of the communist dictatorship.

"Today, my request to the country that has provided Albania and Albanians with extraordinary assistance is support to escape from the narco-state built on their lands," Berisha said.

In his speech, the opposition leader also spoke about family and social policies, claiming that Albania has become an "experimental garden" of the ideas of George Soros and the "extreme left."

Berisha also raised accusations about policies related to children, education and the family, stating that, according to him, "the Albanian family is in great danger."

"Our battle is a battle for the existence of the Albanian family," Berisha concluded.
