Agents of the two secret services have arrived in Tirana in recent days, where they have held continuous meetings with officials of the State Intelligence Service and the State Police, mainly with those of the Anti-Terrorist Service. It is learned that agents of MOSAD and another secret service have landed in Albania to investigate the jihadists arrested a few days ago in the city of Shkodra. Lavdërim Muhaxheri and Ridvan Haqifi are suspected of being the people who gave orders for terrorist attacks in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia. According to media reports, the two suspects, who are very active as part of ISIS terrorist cells during the fighting in Syria and Iraq, have had continuous communication with Albanian citizens from Kosovo, some of whom have already been arrested in recent days. Sources said that during these communications, several conversations were transcribed, where it was requested to organize an attack with explosives and then with weapons at the “Loro Borçi” stadium in Shkodra, during the Albania-Israel match.
ARRESTS IN SHKODERA
Sources close to the investigators of the case reported that foreign agents have given our country's investigators several names accompanied by relevant photos of several people suspected of radical tendencies, as well as people who collaborated with citizens Xhezair Fishti, Ergys Faslia, Bekim Protopapa and Medat Hasani, who were arrested in Shkodra by the Anti-Terror. According to the same sources, it is reported that 9 people were arrested in this city, who were suspected of collaborating with each other for recruitment in Syria, but 5 of them were sent to the authorities in Kosovo under strict security measures. Meanwhile, the other four people are currently in custody in our country, after the court, at the request of the Serious Crimes Prosecution, imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on them.
For these individuals, the prosecutors in the case have strong evidence that they would commit terrorist acts in our country. From the wiretaps, it has resulted that from the conversations that the arrested individuals had with each other, they have claimed that they would act and strike very quickly. For this reason, it is learned that the detention of the self-proclaimed imam Xhezair Fishti, the barber Ergys Faslia, the doctor from Malesia e Madhe Bekim Protopapa, Medat Hasani, but also other individuals took place just a few hours before the beatification mass for 38 Catholic martyrs tortured and killed by the communist regime was to be held in Shkodra.
It was during this mass that prosecutors suspected that the jihadist group might have planned a terrorist attack. Meanwhile, the other attack was suspected to be carried out during the Albania-Israel match, which was to be played at the “Loro Boriçi” stadium in Shkodra. After this suspicion, it was decided that the match would be played at the “Elbasan Arena” stadium. Meanwhile, the investigations have shown that the orders for terrorist attacks in our country were given by several Kosovar citizens, who are fighting in Syria alongside ISIS.
After the aforementioned persons were arrested, they were questioned by Serious Crimes prosecutors and none of them admitted the charges. They maintained the same position before the black squads during the closed-door court session. Suspicions that the group in question could commit bloody acts during the Albania-Israel match, which was to be played at the “Loro Boriçi” stadium in Shkodra, increased after the interception of several other conversations, where the suspects stated that, “we will take revenge for our Muslim brothers.”
In order to take measures for the smooth running of the Albania-Israel match, UEFA has decided that it will be played at the “Elbasan Arena”. Foreign service agents collaborated with SHISH and the State Police to draft a plan of measures. On the other hand, none of the four suspects has admitted the charges, claiming that they are being persecuted because of their faith. For days they have been kept isolated under strict security measures.
