The country's national security is at a very dangerous crossroads! Many suspicious episodes gathered together are slowly constituting a line of behavior of the executive that goes against the national interest in terms of security and the means through which it is consumed. Starting from diplomacy, the activity of law enforcement bodies, the treatment of military installations and equipment, information technology, i.e. cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, energy, etc. ... Almost every letter of the law on the National Security Strategy, approved by the Albanian Parliament almost 2 years ago, has been violated by the government and its subordinate institutions on a continuous basis for a long time. There are numerous cases, from the change of destination of the Armed Forces' naval bases, projects like the Roskovec TPP, which the European Commission's Minister for Energy publicly states is a "Russian investment", to the hacking of SPAK and state and individual data of Albanians, the TUMO innovation center that is trying to change its name from Moscow to Tirana, to the Chinese-style surveillance of Albanian cities under the umbrella of Arab companies and the Kefalia firm, or further to the contracts for the purchase of military equipment by companies with partners from Russian satellite countries in the Caucasus that are being investigated for corruption and links to crime in Belgium! Without forgetting the "cherry on the cake", the Vlora Airport, for which even the flamingos and ducks of the Narta Lagoon have learned that 98% of the shares were left as a guarantee to the person who negotiated the Russian foreign debt at the Paris Club! The latter occurs only 70 kilometers from Kucova!

But the story continues with another aspect related to yesterday's statement by the US Ambassador to Albania, Nancy Van Horn, according to which Albanian criminal groups cooperate with Latin American drug cartels, which for the US is considered a direct violation of national security. And if we do not forget the influence of these Albanian drug trafficking groups in the governance of our country, by the "rule of three" it follows that our government has become a party to the violation of US security. And it does not take much brainpower to understand if we recall the congratulatory message of Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State on the occasion of November 28, where this statement was affirmed clearly, beautifully and cleanly!

But the list of violations with “both feet” of the National Security Strategy of the Republic of Albania has also been consumed through the public rhetoric of the diplomacy of Prime Minister Rama himself. The attacks on President Trump during the 2016 election campaign on CNN and the recent episode in Paris where he dared and publicly mocked in front of the cameras in the presence of the French and Azerbaijani Presidents, constitute serious diplomatic incidents that no amount of lobbying or occult relations from the Levant to the USA can erase! But why does this rhetoric constitute a violation of our national security, since our typical relativism and ease of mind in judging words has become a common feature of public discourse? Because in the National Security Strategy voted by our parliament in 2014, it is clearly reconfirmed that the USA is our strategic partner.

And this is not only regarding bilateral relations that began with the Paris Conference, when Woodrow Wilson vetoed the borders of today's Albania, and then with the 1999 military intervention in Kosovo for its liberation. No! The issue becomes even more serious if we consider that NATO, which is also the main guarantor of our sovereignty and national interest, is led and maintained precisely by the contribution of the USA! Doesn't Rama know this? Absolutely he knows and because he knows it, he has not left undone servility towards many Western politicians from Washington, Rome and Turkey. Simply Rama and his government, subservient to him or infiltrated through some of its key people, have changed geopolitical course. This is confirmed by his speech at the presentation of the Tropoja Photovoltaic Park project, where 4 days ago in the presence of the US representative he defined our country as "China's honey spot". An open and ugly public challenge. At the very moment when the US is undermining the influence of China and Russia from Venezuela to Iran!

This aggravated situation of the Rama government's anti-Western and anti-US articulation and action, however, has a remedy, however peripheral at first glance. A mechanism that can first set in motion constitutional mechanisms against the government's malignant activity in terms of violating our national security. The National Security Council which, unfortunately, in terms of its composition, more resembles an anti-national cadre, starting with the ministers, the prime minister, and not forgetting the leader of the opposition who 4 years ago sued former Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Paris with an unprecedented hostile act. But the President of the Republic as the Chairman of the NSC has the attribute and the opportunity to make a demarche in this direction. So to convene the National Security Council to discuss all the aforementioned episodes and others, and to demand accountability and why not concrete measures to end this stupidity or betrayal, whatever we call it.

Unfortunately, time has shown that the President has not stood firm in the face of the majority when it crosses the boundaries of the Constitution and the law. But it is never too late to do the right thing, especially regarding the western orientation of Albania that is supported by over 90% of society! After all, the President is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, or the diamond tip of our national security, but which in Rama's government has turned into a carbon pencil tip that is blackening our face!
