A 39-year-old man has been arrested in Himara after he was caught building a 5-story building without a permit, one of the floors underground. During field inspections, the Himara Police Commissariat services found that the building, located in a place called "Sugë", was still under construction, but did not have a permit.
Following procedural actions, the police arrested the owner of the building, LB, 39 years old, resident of Tirana, in flagrante delicto.
Meanwhile, three employees of the Territory Protection Inspectorate (IMT) of the Himara Municipality have also been declared wanted, suspected of "Abuse of duty". They are DH, 46 years old, chief inspector, as well as inspectors MK, 31 years old, and AH, 42 years old.
The police continue to work to capture them, while investigations are underway to individualize and document the criminal responsibilities of each. Controls in the territory continue, especially during the tourist season, with a focus on identifying and cracking down on illegal construction and criminal offenses against the environment.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Himara, Vangjel Tavo, has decided to dissolve the Himara IMT for the second time, after repeated cases of illegal construction. According to Tavo, this position is also related to the lack of human resources, as the Himara IMT structure (which had 6 employees) also employed people from other areas.
