Can Yaman will be the star of the third edition of Cannolo Fest, scheduled for May 16 and 17, 2026, in Piana degli Albanesi in Sicily. The Turkish actor, one of the most beloved faces on international television, will arrive in the heart of the Arbëreshë community on Saturday, May 16, to receive the prestigious Hora Skanderberg Award, an award given to personalities from the world of entertainment and culture who contribute to the improvement of the local area and to fostering a dialogue between traditions, identity and international popularity.

Yaman, the main protagonist of the new series "Sandokan", has revealed for the first time his Albanian origins. In an interview with Italian media, Yaman revealed that his mother is from Kosovo, while his father belongs to the Albanian diaspora that arrived in Turkey many years ago.

"I grew up in Suadiye, a residential neighborhood on the Asian side of the city, with football and basketball courts for boys. It's an area inhabited by second- and third-generation immigrants, like my grandparents originally from Kosovo and Albania, who had come to Turkey during the war. They spoke Albanian among themselves," the actor said.

The actor, born in Istanbul in 1989, won international audiences with his hit series “Erkenci Kuş” and “DayDreamer – Wings of a Dream”, becoming one of the most popular actors in Italy in recent years. In Sicily, his presence is particularly linked to the series “Viola come il mare”, a very successful drama filmed in Palermo and western Sicily, which strengthened the actor’s connection with the island and the Sicilian public.
