Two months after accepting Prime Minister Edi Rama's invitation, British politician Nigel Farage has confirmed that he will hold a lunch with the head of the Albanian government, focusing on the topic of deporting foreign criminals from the United Kingdom, an issue that, according to him, poses a serious threat to British national security.
During a speech given to members of the Reform UK party, Farage stated that the meeting with Rama would take place within a few weeks, accompanying the statement with ironic tones:
"I'm going to book a very large plane and maybe take a load of (prisoners) with me, I'm not sure yet," he said.
He added that one of his priorities is to stop illegal entry into Britain and deport those he believes pose a risk to society: "We will stop foreign criminals, we will stop ships and we will deport those who enter illegally. This is what every normal country in the world does."
Farage’s statements come after a long-distance debate between him and the Albanian Prime Minister on social media in July. The cause was a statistic presented by Farage, who claimed that “1 in 50 Albanians in Britain is imprisoned”. Rama publicly disputed this figure, stressing that the correct ratio is “1 in 100”, and accused Farage of spreading false data that stigmatizes Albanians in the United Kingdom.
During their heated debate over Albanian immigrants in Britain, Farage responded to an invitation from Rama, through a post on June 30.
"I accept Prime Minister Edi Rama's invitation to visit Albania as his guest of honor. We will discuss together the return of Albanian prisoners," said Farage, accepting the invitation of the head of government.

Nigel, Nigel, Nigel…
From "one criminal in fifty Albanians," your claim has now spiraled into: "Maybe it's one in three, maybe one in four, I don't know..."
Really?! You don't know?
And this comes after you say you double-checked the numbers?
I already pointed you to the… https://t.co/cvgBe4ftys pic.twitter.com/aCWZKSwpZc
