Xavi Hernández has released his first list as coach of the Netherlands national team, with the 46-year-old Spaniard officially starting his adventure on the bench of the "Tulips".

Several regular starters will be absent due to injuries, including Matthijs de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong and Xavi Simons.

On the list is captain Virgil van Dijk, who will continue his international career, while Ruben van Bommel and Gjivai Zechiël receive the Netherlands' invitation for the first time.

Xavi will begin his training on September 21, ahead of four Nations League matches. The Netherlands will face Germany on September 24, Serbia on September 27, Greece on October 1 and Serbia again on October 4.
