This Sunday morning, the relocation of 102 containers of toxic waste from the "Kurum" company, which had been in Porto Romano for more than a year, began.

Containers with suspected toxic waste were moved to the village of Vrinë, near Shënavlash, near the new site of housing built for the earthquake's homeless.

The process is being carried out by order of the Prosecutor's Office and under the supervision of the authorities.

The relocation aims to ensure the safe management of materials and the continuation of legal procedures for their handling.

The Durrës Police are also assisting in the operation to ensure safety during transport and relocation.

For the scandal with suspected toxic waste, a few weeks ago, the Durrës Court signed 33 arrest warrants, not only for personnel of the responsible companies but also employees of state institutions.

According to the prosecution, serious violations of environmental legislation were found not only at the companies "Kurum" and "Sokolaj", but also at state institutions such as the National Environmental Agency and Durres Customs. Of these measures, only 20 were executed, while in the court decision 8 were left under "prison arrest", 5 under "house arrest" and 7 others "obligated to appear".
