Ukrainian military drone strikes killed one person and wounded three others on Thursday in the southern Russian border region of Bielsko-Biala, a frequent target of such attacks, authorities said. The region’s “general headquarters” said on Telegram that a drone hit a house in the village of Graivoran, near the border, killing one man and wounding another.
In another incident, an unmanned aerial vehicle exploded near the border, injuring two people.
The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, was one of two regional officials announced to be leaving their posts on Wednesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Alexander Shuvaev, a decorated veteran of the Russian armed forces, as acting governor of the Belgorod region.
