Norway will donate more than 180,000 doses of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine to Kosovo, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a tweet.

According to him, Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide said that Kosovo could depend on Team Europe, and that the decision to donate was made after good cooperation with Miroslav Lajčák, the European Union's special representative for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
In Kosovo, 141,008 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine so far. A week ago, a mass vaccination campaign against coronavirus began in Kosovo.

The country is vaccinating its population with vaccines approved by the European Union and the World Health Organization's COVAX program, which distributes vaccines to developing countries. In May, Kosovo authorities announced that they had signed a contract with the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer to purchase over 1 million doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. It is not known when these vaccines will arrive. Since March 13, 2020, when the first cases of infection were registered, health authorities in Kosovo have registered 107,673 patients with this virus. Of these, 2,253 have died.
