As today the GJKKO declared the leader of the 'Mundësia' Party innocent of the criminal offense of defamation, in the case raised after his public statements against the leader of the "Albania Becomes" movement, Adriatik Lapaj, a comment comes from Agron Shehaj. Invited to the lunch program in News24, Shehaj said that according to the court's decision, he has not committed the criminal offense of defamation, while he has only been sentenced to an administrative fine for insult. Shehaj stated that he accepts the fine and is willing to pay it, emphasizing that "telling the truth has a cost."

"Lapaj has received money from organized crime and is part of the corrupt system, benefiting from property. Everyone knows it: the media and politicians. They decided to remain silent. Today the court ruled that I did not slander. It has decided to fine me for insult. Telling the truth has a cost. I am more than happy to pay the fine, but I did what was necessary, what was good for the public interest. What was I supposed to do? Not speak out because Lapaj felt insulted? The accusation that he felt insulted is ridiculous. He pretended to feel immaculate, but he receives money from organized crime. The court has said that I did not slander. Adriatiku went to court to get a certificate of purity," said Shehaj.

He stated that his statements were in the public interest and that he had no other alternative but to speak out. According to Shehaj, the claim that Lapaj felt insulted is unfounded.

Shehaj stressed that any political union "at any cost" is wrong and called on citizens to be careful when voting, especially towards populist figures.

According to him, the problem does not lie in specific individuals, but in the structures and interests behind them. "This court decision also highlights something else. One of the reasons why no one spoke about the truths of Lapaj was the involvement of organized crime. Organized crime is not only involved in the government, but also in the opposition and in the party. Any union, at any cost, is wrong. We must understand that citizens must be careful when casting their votes, especially towards those who are populists. We cannot pass this issue by as if it were secondary. That is why I have decided to tell the truth. Let's be clear: the problem of Albania is not Lapaj, but the people who stand behind this phenomenon. Many may say: "Well, Agron, you will deal with the Adriatic? You have Balluk, you have Rama!". But we cannot get together with just anyone. How can we do this?!", Shehaj asserted.
