There have been spicy banners in the 6 days of mass protests in Tirana, where the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government is now being demanded.
The banners often list the affairs of the Rama government, while the mega-scandal with former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku has taken a "special" place.
Yesterday, a citizen held an ironic banner regarding SPAK's latest revelation, where Balluk's name is linked to that of Milan's former sports director, Igli Tare.
"Oh Bela, I will build a villa in my name," the banner says.
The suspected connection between Igli Tara and Belinda Balluku concerns a villa on the Albanian Ionian coast, within a tourist complex.
The apartment was allegedly offered to the former deputy prime minister as a bribe for a contract awarded to a construction company at the time she was running the air traffic control company Albcontrol. In order to hide the operation, the villa was registered in the name of Igli Tare, who, according to investigators, signed “a fictitious rental contract with Balluk’s former chief of staff.” The prosecution claims that, de facto, the apartment belonged to the former deputy prime minister, who had used it with her family over the years.
