A case of illegal gambling in Korça is cracked. As a result of this operation, citizen AR, 57 years old, resident of Korça, owner of a bar in the village of Bulgarec, who organized gambling and distributed cocaine-type narcotics, was arrested in flagrante delicto. 14 doses of suspected cocaine, a vehicle, 8 mobile phones, gambling cards and chips used for gambling were found and seized in his apartment. Also, active sports betting sites were discovered during the search.

A total of 14 citizens are being prosecuted for "failure to report a crime", while 3 others are being prosecuted for "actions that hinder the discovery of the truth". Meanwhile, a police officer was prosecuted for "abuse of duty", while a disciplinary investigation has also been launched against him by the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police.

The operation was carried out by the services of the Korça Police Commissariat, with the support of the "Eagles" Operational Forces, the Narcotics Investigation Section at the Korça Police Department and the Police Supervision Agency, within the framework of the plan "To crack down on criminal activities in the field of organizing online sports lotteries".

The procedural materials have been referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further legal action.
