Analyst Arbër Hitaj in his analysis on the show “Studio24” IN News24 listed some of the reasons why in Albania, despite the great corruption in the country, there is no change and strong reaction.
According to him, this is because the opposition currently does not offer new figures and that the leadership is the same. According to him, even the new parties are insincere. While he emphasizes that the biggest problem in the country today is corruption.
"In the Albanian terrain, a major problem is corruption. And why, with such great corruption in the country, is there no change? This is because people do not see the antipode of this party in the opposition, at least for the moment. This is because they are the same figures, the leadership is the same. People connected to the past that also had corruption for the people, they are not the ones who will fight corruption... Mr. Lapaj has been very critical of the DP. But Mr. Lapaj received 70 thousand votes, but we also have the situation that came back. But there are parties that had a good performance for the moment, but what came back changed... The electoral system in Hungary is terrible, a party, in addition to having to come out first as a party, must also come out first as a candidate. So such great trust was needed. In Albania, elections are managed by the SP, the DP and other parties, so they have the commissioners. Why should the DP make an alliance and give more oxygen to new parties? There is no obligation, they are rivals with each other... so the situation is insincere because they are insincere. Lapaj says to change the electoral system, but now it is corruption. A party that comes to power, the main thing must be the fight against corruption. Now Lapaj should say, was there corruption in the opposition then? This government has corruption, but what about the officials of this country who were in the DP, did they have corruption? ", said Hitaj.
